Cooking with Cucina

What’s even better than pasta? Colorful HOMEMADE pasta!

Just this past March, CUCINA collaborated with “pasta ninja” Linda Miller Nicholson (aka @saltyseattle) to create some colorful pasta in our kitchen to celebrate the launch of CUCINA in the United States!

@saltyseattle sound familiar? You’ve probably seen pictures of her colorful pasta around. She’s been featured on The Today Show, Buzzfeed Tasty, and Elle to name a few! She also wrote a cookbook: Pasta, Pretty Please.

During our Cooking with CUCINA event, Linda led classes teaching us how to craft beautifully shaped pasta with her homemade naturally dyed dough!

First, Linda reminded us of the importance of washing our hands. Especially when working in the kitchen! Did you know that humans are estimated to have around 1,500 bacteria living on every square centimeter of the skin on our hands? That’s a lot! Washing our hands is one of the most important things we can do to stop germs from spreading.

Worried about drying out your hands when you wash them? Some soaps contain harsh chemicals that can leave your skin feeling tight and dry. But don’t worry! Our CUCINA hand soaps are formulated specifically to care for hands in the kitchen! They are crafted with first cold-pressed olive oil and other olive derivatives with purifying and hydrating properties. After washing, our hands were left feeling clean and soft!

Now that we were ready to start cooking, Linda showed us how to roll out our pasta using the machine and create beautifully shaped pasta. She guided us step by step and we were able to create some really cool shapes.

Then, it was time to clean up! We used the CUCINA dish detergent to wash any dirty plates or equipment we had. Cooking is a lot of fun but sometimes cleaning up afterward isn’t. That doesn’t have to be the case anymore! CUCINA dish detergent contains a cleansing base that’s soft on hands while cleaning efficiently. Thanks to the product’s high concentration level, only a few drops are required to effectively clean food residue off of your dishes. The dish detergent has a biodegradable formula that acts as a powerful degreaser while remaining gentle on skin. No harsh chemicals here!

As we were wrapping up, we again lined up to wash our hands. We couldn’t leave with the flour and dough residue on our hands! After washing our hands, we added an extra step and used the CUCINA regenerative hand cream. This nourishing hand cream is also enriched with first cold-pressed olive oil which helps the skin maintain its elasticity and suppleness. The non-greasy formula absorbs quickly, leaving the skin hydrated and lightly perfumed.

However, if you really want to go above and beyond in keeping your hands supple and hydrated, try the CUCINA hand butter! As someone who’s always working in the kitchen, Linda noted how dry her hands can get after she cooks. She loves the formula of the hand butter because it’s thick and keeps her hands moisturized and soft. It’s especially great for those with dry and damaged hands.

We all left with pretty, homemade pasta to take home! Woohoo!

Thank you, Linda, and CUCINA for an amazing day!
